Hope North’s inaugural gala is set to impress on Wednesday, September 18th, at the intimate and hip City Winery in Manhattan.
The incredible Host Committee for the gala includes Bob Balaban, Kristin Chenoweth, Whoopi Goldberg, Adrian Grenier, Mariska Hargitay, Taraji P. Henson, Blake Lively, Eva Amurri Martino & Kyle Martino, James McAvoy, Audra McDonald, Bette Midler, Hunter Parrish, Parker Posey, Ryan Reynolds, Trudie Styler, Bradley Whitford, Bruce Willis and Jeffrey Wright. There will be special performances by Rufus Wainwright, ELEW, and Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!).
Honorary co-hosts Susan Sarandon and Forest Whitaker will be there as well to recognize the work that Mary-Louise Parker has done in support of the organization.
In northern Uganda, tens of thousands of children have been abducted and forced to serve as soldiers in a brutal civil war. Hope North was created to spread peace through education in a region that has been ripped apart by this conflict
